At DZ, we have a genuine commitment to creating a safe workplace. Our Environmental Safety & Health Program provides resources for hiring and training of personnel, oversight and enforcement needed to manage the program. We communicate our commitment to the workforce which allows for feedback and recommendations to continuously improve the safety environment.
We have a team of full-time safety professionals at both the corporate and field level to evaluate, improve, implement and enforce our Environmental Safety & Health Program. Safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are sent weekly to corporate and divisional leadership.

F.D. Thomas
At F.D. Thomas (FDT), we provide the widest range of knowledge and experience in the painting, coating, and specialty contracting industry. Since 1979, we have combined traditional methods, modern technology, and safe, creative thinking to solve any problems that come our way. We have grown to include four operating companies under FDT: FDT Structural Specialties, DZ, D2 Industrial Services, and Redwood Painting.
With offices located throughout the United States, FDT and our other operating companies provide a wide range of services: industrial painting and specialty coatings; waterproofing, sealants, and roofing; specialty contracting; and insulation, scaffolding, and abatement. FDT provides expert services for a range of customers, including Federal and state governments, industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities, commercial building owners, and entertainment/sports complexes.
FDT Structural Specialties
FDT Structural Specialties (FDTSS) is a SBA certified 8(a) company, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE). FDTSS provides turnkey solutions and services for the rehabilitation, strengthening, and protection of structures including structural strengthening with FRP composites, concrete and masonry restoration, and specialty coatings. FDTSS provides value-added solutions to contractors, owners, engineers, and government agencies.
D2 Industrial Services
D2 Industrial Services (D2) performs on both maintenance and capital projects, with a focus on scaffolding, insulation, and asbestos abatement. D2 has the skilled labor force to perform everyday maintenance or shutdown services in a wide range of industrial facilities, including refineries, chemical, food and beverage, and power generation facilities. D2 is a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
Redwood Painting Company
Started in 1947 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Redwood is one of the most experienced painting and coating contractors in the nation, providing industrial painting and coating, lead abatement, and commercial painting services. Redwood’s team specializes in contracting services for large, industrial facilities and wastewater treatment plants, as well as ongoing maintenance work for repeat clients. Redwood is a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
