Who We Are

DZ is proud to call the San Francisco Bay Area home since 1884. We provide industrial painting services for a wide variety of projects, including government facilities, bridges, distribution centers, medical facilities, and commercial structures.

DZ is a direct subsidiary of F.D. Thomas (FDT). With divisions throughout the United States, FDT and its subsidiaries provide a wide range of services: industrial painting and specialty coatings; commercial painting; waterproofing, sealants, and roofing; specialty contracting; and insulation, scaffolding, and abatement.

DZ is a wholly owned operating company of ASRC Industrial (AIS), a subsidiary of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC). Since its inception in 1972, ASRC is controlled by and represents the business interests of more than 13,600 Iñupiat shareholders—by providing dividends, employment and charitable contributions to organizations that promote the social welfare and cultural longevity of the North Slope Iñupiat.

As result of this controlling interest, DZ holds several diverse supplier certifications that provide unique opportunities to support meeting minority business goals. In addition, DZ holds certifications which count toward the prime contractor’s commitment to SDB subcontracting. Contracting with DZ will not only ensure the job gets done right, it can help you meet your diversity spending goals while also helping improve quality of life across North Slope Alaska native villages.
